Angal and Thyngs announce partnership to streamline cashless donations for UK charities

  • Angal to pioneer cashless charity collection boxes in the UK
  • Partnership makes it quick and easy for charities to benefit from cashless giving
  • Technology will pay for itself with the first £1 donation

Angal, a leading provider of fundraising solutions, and Thyngs, a mobile hardware and software platform, today announced a partnership that will see Thyngs’ cashless donation technology integrated into Angal’s product range, making it quick and easy for UK charities to benefit from the rise in contactless giving via an affordable solution that pays for itself with the first £1 donation.

Thyngs cashless donation technology will be incorporated into collecting boxes and buckets manufactured by Angal, enabling charities to take credit/debit card and Apple Pay donations as well as cash – and Android Pay and PayPal later this year. The products will make it easy for supporters to donate any amount they choose using their smartphones, and will provide charities with Gift Aid declarations and the ability to remotely monitor the performance of each collecting box.

Announcing the partnership, Angal managing director Lee Woodford said, “The Thyngs technology allows Angal to pioneer a safe and secure way for our clients to accept cashless donations. Supporters simply scan or tap their mobile phone on our collecting boxes and can donate in less than 15 seconds. This ease of use was one of the key reasons we joined up with Thyngs. Any boxes with the old FRSB tick logo will need replacing soon, so now is the perfect time to upgrade.”

Thyngs chief executive Neil Garner added, “Our affordable cashless donation solutions offer all the benefits of contactless technology, without the cost and complexity. Donors choose how much to give, add Gift Aid and share contact details with their chosen charity all via the familiar collecting box. Our partnership with Angal means that more charities will be able to benefit from the rise of contactless payments and cashless giving.”

The Thyngs technology is available immediately for the Polybox Handbox®, Polydrum Wedge®, and Collectors Buckets, and across the rest of Angal’s product range over the coming months. For more information, contact Angal on 01903 787978 or visit http://www.angal.co.uk.
