Thyngs Ltd is a UK mobile technology company that transforms any thing into an instant point of sale, connecting buyers, sellers, and brands. We provide a technology platform that links printed materials (using QR code) and hardware technology (NFC or Bluetooth Beacons) to interactive online experiences on your mobile. We’ve also built an end-to-end payment and charity donation service designed for cash-based collection tins, through quick and simple card payment and gift aid collection through your smartphone. How do we look after your data

We partner with specialist payment processing companies that are fully compliant with payment card industry regulations. Any payment details are captured and securely processed by their systems. Card schemes like MasterCard and Visa regularly review and approve their systems, processes, and people to ensure they comply with the highest standards of data security.

If you make a Gift Aid declaration as part of a charitable donation then we store this data securely on behalf of the charity and in your browser to help pre-fill any future declarations, making them much quicker and simpler.

How are payments processed

We work closely with payment processors like Stripe and PayPal who process your card payment on behalf of the organisation you are paying. Payment acquirers authorise and settle your card transaction with the card schemes (Visa and MasterCard) and your card issuer. Payments are paid directly into the organisation’s bank account, less any processing fees.

What are the fees

Payment processors such as Stripe and PayPal charge their processing fees direct to the organisation. These fees vary from processor to processor but are typically around 1.4% of the transaction value plus a flat charge of 20p. We deduct a similar charge depending on the nature of the transaction, usually in lieu of monthly subscription fees.

If you make a £10 donation to charity, for example, they will receive £9.43. However, if you make a Gift Aid declaration, they will be able to claim another £2.50 from the Government to cover these costs.

What if I have problems

If you have a problem with a payment being declined, please contact your card issuer in the first instance, using the contact details on the back of your card. If you have a problem with processing your transaction or other queries, please send as much information as you can about the organisation you are paying, time of day, location and type of card to and we will respond as soon as possible during normal UK business hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays).
